Privacy Policy

Cooked ("the app") is an iOS entertainment app that gives AI-generated verdicts on photos you choose to check. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no selling data, and your photos are not stored.

Photos you check, and the AI service that sees them

What is sent. When you choose a photo and tap "Analyze", the app sends that photo (resized and compressed) over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server, together with an anonymous device identifier and an anonymous subscription identifier used only to enforce the free-check limit and verify your subscription. Nothing else from your device is sent: no name, email, contacts, location, or other photos.

Who receives it. Our server forwards the photo — and only the photo, never the identifiers — to Anthropic, PBC (the "Claude" AI service, anthropic.com), which analyzes the image and generates the verdict text and score. Anthropic processes the photo solely to produce that response for us and, under its commercial API terms, does not use it to train its models. Anthropic's handling of API data is described in its privacy policy and commercial terms; we have chosen it because those terms provide protection equal to what this policy promises you.

Why. Generating the verdict is the only purpose. The photo is processed in memory and is not saved on our servers after the response is returned. We do not build a profile from your photos and never use them to train models.

Your permission. The first time you check a photo, the app explains this and asks you to allow it before anything is sent. Every check after that requires you to pick a photo and confirm it yourself; nothing is ever sent automatically. If you do not want a photo shared with the AI service, do not analyze it — the app has no other function that transmits it.

Data we store

• Anonymous device identifier and check count. To enforce the free-check limit, we store a random identifier generated on your device together with a count of checks used. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account, because the app has none.
• Subscription status. Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify whether a subscription is active, identified only by an anonymous ID. We briefly cache an active result (about 5 minutes). We never see your payment details.

What we don't do

• No user accounts and no collection of your name, email, or contacts.
• No advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No sale or sharing of your data for marketing.
• No use of your photos beyond generating the verdict you asked for.

Service providers

• Anthropic (Claude API) — receives the photo you chose to check, generates the verdict. Does not receive your device or subscription identifiers. Inputs are not used to train its models.
• Cloudflare — hosts our server, which receives the photo and the anonymous identifiers, relays the photo to Anthropic, and stores only the check count and cached subscription status.
• RevenueCat — receives the anonymous subscription identifier and Apple purchase receipt to verify the subscription. Never receives photos.

Each provider receives only the minimum needed to do its job and is bound by terms that provide the same or equal protection to the commitments in this policy. We do not share your data with anyone else.

Children

Cooked is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

You can stop using the app at any time and manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings. Because we store no account data, there is nothing further to delete beyond the anonymous check count, which you can request we remove by contacting us.
